GA-PH67A-UD3 ethernet error (code 10)

GA-PH67A-UD3 ethernet error (code 10)
« on: January 28, 2011, 07:42:53 am »
Welcome,

recently I put together new box, including GA-PH67A-UD3 motherboard - everything on factory settings. I installed fresh copy of Windows XP, 32 bit.
I ran express install of mobo drivers on clean system - all worked fine, except for Realtek Ethernet driver which returned an error (code 10).
I reinstalled drivers - the same thing.
I checked BIOS setup: onboard LAN enabled, LAN ROM disabled. Tried to change second setting - no effect, so I set it back to default. BIOS Smart LAN seems to detect cable.
I tried latest drivers from both Gigabyte and Realtek websites with the same result.
I tried manual driver install instead of provided installer - nope.
I flashed BIOS from ver. F3 to F5 - nope.
I tried to install system on older SATA Seagate Barracuda, just in case it was some weird SSD conflict - nope.

Any ideas?  ???

Today I found out a suggestion that Smart LAN utility on BIOS can be responsible for this problem: http://techreport.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=66835

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

I would suggest removing all the Gigabyte utilites that you have installed even if that means a format and reinstall of the OS as they can cause some problems. When you do the installation make sure that you do everything manually and only install what is necessary.
