The idea is to set it in BIOS with half the ram in that boots then add in the rest, which will (if done right) use the settings you set for the other half the ram so it sets it for all of the ram.

While i understand this would work for voltages, i dont see how this would work for the individual modules. Surely the new RAM would just default as i had only set the timings of the modules currently in the system?

If I am understanding you correctly, that wouldn't be a problem as the settings are stored in the BIOS not the memory sticks, so swapping them over or adding extra wont have any effect on the settings.

Like I said “if done right” if you set DRAM Timing Selectable to Quick timings you set for Channel A will apply to Channel B.

So assuming the modules are not faulty and the rated timings for my RAM are simply too tight, if i choose _Quick_ for my DRAM Timings Selectable and set Channel A to 1.65V with 8-8-8-24 timings, it will apply those settings to Channel B also? I set this to Expert when i tried, so i will set this to Quick and get back to you with the results. Thank you peteruk ;)

I will run a memtest on the individual dimms sometimes over the weekend and post back an update.

Thanks guys.

There is no reason to think that shouldn't work but please let us know how you get on.  ;)

I didn't get around to testing individual modules but will do so tomorrow and let u know how it goes.

Thanks.

Well you can only try these things out in the hope that they will have the desired effect, just sometimes it doesn't come off. :-\

Try setting Command Rate to 2 in Quick.
