GA-H55N-USB3 Supports of Adaptec PCI-E x8 RAID Controller

Hi All,

I am just wondering if the Gigabyle GA-H55N-USB3's x16 PCI-E slot will support any PCI-E x8 devices, especially the Adaptec PCI-E x8 RAID adapter which I plan to install.

The reason I am asking this is because I am an unhappy owner of a Zotac H55 Mini-ITX board which has a crippled x16 PCI-E slot which only support graphics cards and very few TV tuner cards. 

If the Gigabyte x16 PCI-E port works with any x8 PCI-E devices then I am making the switch right away.

From what I can find out it is a fully functioning PCIe 2.0 slot. The specs list it as:
1.1 x PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (The PCIEX16 slot conforms to PCI Express 2.0 standard.)
and this is confirmed in the manual. Therefore it should function fine with an x8 card.
