GA-m720-US3 (rev1.0) and 550BE unlock cores, no hybrid?
« on: April 28, 2011, 11:27:48 am »
Hello im new in this forum.

I try to unlock my 550be and i read lots of information on forums and it says that i need to put the MB in hybrid. I remember for a year ago that i had this option but i have updated the BIOS to latest F7N and now i cant find it. Tried F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 F7N and none of them have this option. How do i get it back? i know that one of my cores fail so i need to unlock just one.

Hi there,

sorry but I don't have access to your motherboard so I can't be certain but have you checked under the Advanced BIOS Features heading in BIOS? On most boards now you will find the Core Unlocking feature there, not under the M.I.T. section as you would expect.

well i found it once apon a time under M.I.T. Now there is no EC firmware selection only NVCC. When i put it to auto it the computer wont post. How come i could see it for a time ago and got x3 processors to work but now i dont?

I'm not sure why it got changed and, as I said before, I don't have access to your motherboard to check in BIOS but if the Core unlock feature is available it should be under Advanced BIOS Features. You should probably be looking for "CPU Unlock" and "CPU Core Control" .

If you still can't find it could you post some pictures of your BIOS screens as it might help?

Sure, there are not picture at my BIOS but it looks the same;

When i click MIT intelligent tweaker and choose NVCC i get this page;

but i dont have the line at the top. The EC firmware selection isent there anymore for me.
