I built my pc a few months back and never bothered setting up the front audio, now I'm looking to get it set up and working. Mobo user's manual says it supports both HD audio and AC97, just make sure the pins match. Looking at the pin configuration of the case its hard to tell if they are different abbreviations or completely different assignments....anyone wanna help? These are whats listed in the manuals:
MOBO----------CASE HD Audio
1. MIC2_L PORT1L
2. GND AUD GND
3. MIC2_R PORT1R
4. -ACZ_DET PRESENCE#
5. LINE2_R PORT2R
6. GND SENSE1_RETURN
7. FAUDIO_JD SENSE_SEND
8. No Pin No Pin
9. LINE2_L PORT2L
10. GND SENSE2_RETURN
MOBO----------CASE AC`97
1. MIC MIC
2. GND GND
3. MIC Power MIC~BIAS
4. NC No Pin
5. Line Out (R) FPOUT-R
6. NC RET-R
7. NC NO DEFINITION
8. No Pin No Pin
9. Line Out (L) FPOUT-L
10. NC RET-L
HD seems like it might be a match, but I'm not positive. My roommate ruined his mobo when he first tried to use his front audio ports (was running fine for a few days, tried headphones in the front and ZAP, computer shut off and didnt turn back on) so I'm proceeding with caution.
Thanks =]
