Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4D works on GA-965P rev 3.3, ONLY IF UNDER-VOLTED!

**Follow-up thread to http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33922517 **

Hi,
I just can’t get my Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400C4D to run stable on my Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3. This RAM is rated to run stable at 4-4-4-12, 2.1V.
However, if I set the voltage to +0.3 (2.1V), I get thousands of errors in test#5 of memtest86+ 2.01.
However, I can get the RAM to pass 11+ rounds of memtest86+ with the following settings:
4-4-4-12, +0.2(2.0V) and Refresh to ACT Delay = 42, High speed DRAM DLL = Option 2. (Option 1 not stable)
Even though the RAM passes memtest86+ at a voltage of 2.0V (less than the official spec volt by 0.1V), I witness occasional stability problems:-
Summary of issues:
1. CRYSIS occasionally locks up the system. (infinite loop error)
2. An occasional blank, black frame is rendered in CRYSIS and 3DMark06 Canyon flight demo run. (http://www.youtube.com/v/Iz8TxiJTnio)
3. I replaced my 8800GTS 320 with a 8800GT- this card freezes less often than the GTS, however, hard lockups do happen once in a while.
Since, my video card is just a few days old, I am certain that it isn’t faulty. After all, I had frequent crashes with my 8800GTS, so it is highly unlikely that both the cards are faulty.
I can pass several hours of memtest86+, ORTHOS with the RAM @ 2.0V
However, I still have occasional crashes... this leads me to believe:
Motherboard is faulty
OR
RAM is faulty
OR
There is some compatibility issue with these Corsair modules on the 965P-DS3 3.3.

Hi
The module have been test to be compatible with this board.
http://www.corsair.com/testreports/report_print.aspx?r_id=101894&p_id=10345&m_id=13289

Have you try update the BIOS to F13q?

Component behave different according to your system configuration :)

Bios F12 here... I have seen the Corsair test reports before... however, the board and the ram don't work as per specifications.. maybe the folks @Corsair tested V1.0 or 2.0 of the DS3 with a different BIOS.. haven't upgraded to F13q, that's still BETA.. waiting for the next major release.. F12 is the latest release BIOS and I flashed to that.. The board originally had F10.. and the same problems with memory existed then too...
