No RMA was needed :)
I just did a Secure Erase using Parted Magic software and the Gigabyte mobo was then able to identify the disk in AHCI mode :) Did a AA SSD bench and got 389pts (compare this with the 199pts I got one month ago).

I do have one question though, SMART initiation failed and I wanted to enter BIOS to check if SMART is enabled or not.
Pressing Del-key does not seem to help though since POST skips disk check while in AHCI. Is there another way?

Also there is the memory "problem". I thought about changing the SPD on the System Memory Multiplier, from AUTO to 8 to enable 1333MHz speeds. Or will my computer blow up if I do so?  :P

Hi

You should still be able to press DEL to enter the BIOS when booting even when using AHCI mode. I am using AHCI and can still enter the BIOS as normal. Are you sure that it is just that your keyboard is not responding in DOS ?

As long as your memory is capable there is no reason at all that you shouldn't manually configure the settings for it. Besides it is voltage that is the killer not timings.

Hi.

No problem pressing DEL to enter BIOS. It used to fail since I used to not get pas AHCI POST but now it's not a problem anymore.

Okay, I'll leave the memory as it is.

Thanks for all your help and have a nice weekend!
