Hello gigabyte forum, im having lately some problems i have gigabyte ud3r revision 2 6 gb of ram kingston 1600mhz 7-8-7-20.
my problem is when i enable ahci before the format i had some cold boot errors like i start my machine and machine closed, maybe is my dvdrom cant support ahci?
i have intel ssd on intel controler and my sata 1 tb sata 3 into sata 2 port intel too. no problems in that, i think the dvdrom have problems.

Hello Johnz and welcome to the Gigabyte forum.

Very likely you are correct in your assumption that the optical drive could be having problems with AHCI. This is not uncommon and the best way is to either replace the drive with a more modern one as usually it is older drives that protest, or move the drive onto a seperate controller and set it to IDE mode.

So if i just buy a new one and put it at the marvel sata 3 ports is that ok? i dont need any drivers right because only the dvd i will have there.

can you suggest one good dvd nothink special:p one good and good money :P

I just recently purchased a new one for my review build from Ebuyer in the UK for £12 (about €14) so I guess you must be able to get one in Greece for roughly the same. The one I bought was a 24 speed multi dvd writer LiteOn model.

Yes putting it on the Marvell port is fine.
