latest intel sata raid driver for GA-X58a-UD5 not working on Win7-64bit

Just found new sata raid driver for the Intel Southbridge posted at Gigabyte site for X58a-UD5, but after downloading it, I get this message:

Hi,

Maybe you have a crap computer!  Seriously it sounds like it isn't finding the hardware it is expecting to find. So that might mean that you will have to break the RAID first, beyond that I can't think of any reason assuming that you are sure that you have downloaded the correct file.

The bad thing is, I have no raid set for the southbridge controller. Will try to look into BIOS if its not disabled  
But is the Southbridge not integrated in the chipset?

I would double check the file first and then download it again from a different site in case it is corrupt.

Then check through all your related settings in the BIOS.

I have just thought I seem to remember that you have to install another file first. It will tell you about it on the download site if I am right. Sorry my mistake I was thinking about the Marvell RAID utility.

This error appears if you do not have the BIOS set to AHCI when trying to install.

So, since you are in IDE mode now, you will need to make the following registry changes, then enable AHCI in the BIOS, then install the Intel program

Enable switching between all IDE/AHCI/RAID modes by changing "Start" Values in these keys to 0 (Win 7 / Vista ONLY)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Pciide\Start

Switching to AHCI on the Intel SATA controller did the trick. Regarding OS, I have read, when the OS is installed on one of the drives connected to the SATA controller and switching from IDE to AHCI, booting problems may occur. My OS is on the PCIe Revodrive, so there should be no issue.The SATA Intel software installed correctly. Additionaly I have enabled AHCI SATA native mode in BIOS, because im on Win7.

Yes you were correct to enable the Native SATA mode in the BIOS as it will increase performance.
