« on: April 19, 2011, 07:44:46 pm »
hey guys,

recently bought a bundle online specs

AMD Phenom II x6 overclocked to 3.6
M68MT-S2 motherboard
Kingston 4GB DDR3 1600MHz Memory

added with my curretn graphics card

sapphire radeon hd5770

power supply ocz stealth extreme 2 600w

problem is it wont post and monitor is showing no signal. ive tried two different monitors that i know work, graphics card is fine also as ive checked this on different computer. ive taken memory out and tried one stick at a time in different slots. ive tried clearing cmos, removing and replacing battery and unplugging everything bar the graphics card, psu and powerswitch and still nothing.

any help will be muchly appreciated!

Remove the overclock to start with and try again. Also if you get it as far as the BIOS disable the onboard graphics.

Well if you have just purchased this kit I would contact the vendor and see what they are prepared to do about it. You don't want to go voiding any warranty that you might have.

Is it in a chassis or still on the benchtop?

well this is the second mobo ive had of them, had the exact same problem with the previous one. so sent it back and they have provided me with this one..

so im thinking its not a problem with the motherboard itself.

and its in the case atm, but i did assemble it outside of case on the kitchen table.

Hi there,

what revision is the motherboard? You can find it printed on one of the edges of the motherboard.
what Phenom X6 processor is it?
where did you get the bundle from and could you post a link if it was from an on-line retailer?

Did you check the serial numbers to make sure that they  didn't just return your original kit ?

The link that you have provided shows a different motherboard to the one you have originally mentioned, the GA-MA74GMT-S2 rather than the GA-M68MT-ST. Can you check which motherboard you actually have it is printed on the motherboard also the revision number.

In the specifications it doesn't actually state which CPU they are selling. Have htey given any indication as to the model number for this?

It may sound stupid but have you remembered to connect the 12v 4 pin plug near the CPU ?
