MULTIPLE MONITOR FAILURE

MULTIPLE MONITOR FAILURE
« on: May 28, 2008, 08:21:18 pm »
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAND NEW GA-P35-DS3L MOTHERBOARD.  I MUST HAVE DUAL MONITORS AND HAVE INSTALLED AN MSI RX300HM GRAPHICS CARD IN THE PCI EXPRESS X 16 SLOT.  THE SECOND MONITOR IS CONNECTED TO AN AMC PN 109-40600-10 PCI GRAPHICS CARD.  EITHER CARD FUNCTIONS WELL BUT ONLY ON ITS OWN.  TRY TO INSTALL THE SECOND CARD AND PROBLEMS ARRISE, i.e. I HAVE THE SMALL PCI CARD INSTALLED AND FUNCTIONING, WHEN I PLUG THE PCI EXPRESS CARD IN, USE OF THE PRIMARY CARD APPEARS TO BE DISABLED BY THIS ACTION.  FOR MY NEEDS THIS RENDERS MY PC USELESS FOR MY NEEDS.  MS WINDOWS XP IS THE OS WITH NEW INTEL CORE 2 DUO CPU, 4GB DDR2
RAM.  DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS?

Hi CL1NTONB

if you want to use 2 monitors using this MB then you need to have 1 PCI Express VGA card with 2 outputs having support for Dual Display instead of current hardware configuration.
As according to the BIOS Init Display First option you can specify the monitor display from the installed PCI graphics card OR the PCI Express graphics card.
ZX-S & C64 are still my favourites ;-)
