I know almost nothing about computers but my computer man is on holiday!  HELP!

My machine froze when trying to close out some Excel spreadsheets.  I had to turn it off by using the power switch. Now, it cannot open up or start Windows.  A blank screen opens with the above information and some Keys highlighted at the bottom eg DEL- BIOS set-up; F9 - Xpress Recovery2; F12 - Boot Menu; END - Qflash

Pressing the keys on starting I get nowhere except once, and only once, I got the usual table of figures with a message to the effect INSERT YOUR XPRESS RECOVERY DISK.  Where do it get one of those?

Thanks

Hi,
it could be that your OS is damaged , the system boot files are deleted or corrupted ,
which means that you have to to repair your system , try to change the first boot sequence from the BIOS to CD-ROM  by pressing F12 and insert your windows xp cd and see if it boots and if you can repair the system. by using the repair option

This link will take you to the recovery 2 program to download,
