Sorry to bump this topic, but Ive been searching the net (again) and found this board http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2958# as a B grade which costs £79.00 inc VAT (plus delivery).

Just wondering if that board is still "up to todays" tech?

I know that b grades are often missing something, but last time I brought a b grade (which was the board that is getting replaced, ironically) it was only missing the driver cd (I brought it from the same shop as well where this one is)

Obviously check first to see what is making it B grade but if it is opnly something like a missin gdisk then no problem. The board is very good and not at all out dated.  Basically it takes the i5 or i7 chips as it is a X58 chipset board. It will support Triple Channel memory which is better than Dual Channel and this board is not far from the top of the line. I am currently using the X58A-UD7 board and a i7 920 with 6 GB of Corsair Dominator memory and it is a very able machine.

I think the only issue there will be a "we cant tell you" which I seem to recall happening last time, however I will try to find out what I can.

Yes definitely an upgrade. It is no longer the latest iteration but is about as powerfull as anything out there with the rest of the system well balanced.
