First I'd just like to state that this is proving to be a stable board. From the initial build (where the first power-on was a clean post into windows setup) up to having the system running 24/7 at 50% constant cpu usage; It's been fine.
As per my sig; I'm using the PIC-e x16 slot for a graphics card. I'm also running the display ports fed from the Intel CPU graphics.
Now I'd like more USB ports (already using the two USB3 ports for USB2 devices), so I'm thinking about buying a USB3 PCI-e expansion card (NEC/Renasis chip-set).
I remember reading that the USB 3.0 chipset cannot co-exist with a x16 card plugged in. Surely; the x16 PIC-e is directly connected to the CPU and the USB3 chipset is on a seperate PCI-e bus (southbridge)... So this is not fact?
How many lanes are actually available on the PIC-e bus (southbridge), and what are my options?
