Yes that is correct, you can go back to an earlier or later version. Where exactly are you now then ?

i am using F5 bios now (with default bios setings)
still have this problems
1. 12gb (10gb usable)
2. and memory working on 1066

F6 and F7 bios (with default bios setings) resolve
1. 12gb (OK)
2.  memory stay at 1066 !
but system crush with default setings

Thanks for the updated info. I am not sure if it is just a typo but you should be using Optimised BIOS settings not the Default settings.

Well if you go into the BIOS and press F7 or select load Optimised BIOS defaults and then save and exit after making any other changes like the boot option etc.

You have not big interest to run at 1600 ( memory sticks are very hot )

I have tested with my computer in 1066 and 1600 and performance is similar !!

Test only with defaults parameters , if you have always a problem exchange sticks by anothers

If you have :

on F5 with default parameters works fine
only 12gb (10gb usable) and memory working on 1066

You have one memory stick bad ,  i have also a problem similar with 3 * 2 GB sticks with 6 GB detected and only 4 GB running

Only with one stick in the computer , the bad stick installed in slot one , and computer cannot start !!

You have 4 sticks why not test one by one and after two by two  the sticks ...

But as Pierre asked, ... did you test the dimms Individually ( one at a time ) with Memtest ... it's a long processes, ... maybe start with 2 passes on each modual.......IF they pass you will have to do the full ten passes each.........I have been following this thread and am starting to agree with others that you quite probable have a bad memory stick causing the "Crush" (CRASH) you described.

I can't say I am surprised, but so many people try and skirt around this proceedure with any excuse. I have even had members lie to me that they have done the full test and then it comes out later that they hadn't but could have saved a whole bundle of time and effort if it was done as suggested in the first place!
OK rant over. ;)

No I wasn't referring to you in person merely many other members who did the exact thing and surely did know at the time. No offence meant.  ;)
