Gigabytes new iSSD speeds
« on: June 02, 2011, 05:03:29 pm »

Well!.....this is handy News and another step forward, the only figures I found with a quick look were 450Mb/s read and 145 Mb/s sequential write......can any one confirm these figures,,....?

to be honest I though for something on-board, and from Intel, the latest Tech!......would have been a tad faster, .... The way I think I see it, ... anyone running a fair performance SSD would/might actually get bottlenecked running the iSSD in there system....Sure if you run conventional hard drives SATAII or even IIIs there would be an advantage, ........Discussion time!

Yes I like the idea a lot and apart from the size being a bit on the small size it is a big step forward.  Shame they didn't use a 50 or so Gb as it would be large enough to run Windows as it is I am not sure how would be the best way to make use of the extra speed.

If it does mimic the 9130 function, it does not matter if you have 20Gb or 200Gb......you still end up with 80% of the SSD speed.........that's IF it uses a similar design path to 9130 controller functionality.......Anybody else care to comment!
