z68x ud7-B3 bios won't load

hello,
I just tried to overclock my Gigabyte z68x ud7 pc with Cloud OC. I have flashed to the latest Gigabyte f6 bios.
I adjusted my Corsair 2000mhz Dominator ram to 1866mhz with no trouble.
Then I tried to bump my 2600k Intell i7 cpu to 4.5 ghz, it wouldn't let me access the voltages so I assumed it would adjust it dynamically for me.
I was wrong.  When i set the factor to 45 my pc froze and I did a hard reboot.

Now the pc won't boot up,  it just gets past the bios screen and reboots infinitely.
Worst part is i can't even open the bios now because my keyboard has lost function as well.

How can I reset my bios or gain control of my keyboard to TAB/DEL into normal bios?
Is there a reset button on the motherboard?

Any help would be appreciated...

Hi and welcome to the Gigabyte Forum.

The first thing to dop would be to clear the CMOS. Follow these instructions exactly please:

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Could you point me to a website showing me how to remove the battery from the z68x ud7, or a similar MoBo?

And if you know of a good beginner's guide to overclocking this board as well, I'm learning as I go here.
I keep getting a .NET error with Touch Bios so that's a no-go,  but I just discovered Cloud oc!

Hi

Touch BIOS is a bit problematic at the moment being  a new technology. It will soon all get ironed out I am sure.

Try Googling for a video of removing the battery but it is very straightforward. The battery is the large silver disk situated just below the gold GIGABYTE lettering on the lowest of the heatsinks. There is just a small springclip that retains it. If you push it back with a small screwdriver or similar the battery will pop up. replacement is simply pushing the battery back into the holder.

I decided to sleep on it and wake up in a more objective mood.

Clipped on my static discharge bracelet (but I have a Corsair 650d with no surface unpainted, so I found some exposed steel on the motherboard backplate)

Unplugged the PC and pressed the "ON' button twice for 30 secs

Looked at my manual and found where the battery hides,  removed 1 of my gtx 580s (I heard Gigabyte boards forced you to remove both with battery placement - not the case anymore even with 2 beastly 580s)

Battery popped out as easily as you said.  Left it 1 hour & 1/2 to make sure.

Popped it back in and rehooked my tangle of wires,  then hit start.

Bang! Keyboard lit up and I was in the bios,  reset to optimized defaults..

Pow! I was booted back up in seconds...

So thanks again.


*I thought that if you did a bad overclock the bios would catch it and reset to defaults?  Then reboot like normal.  I guess not.

Well I am glad it all worked out alright for you there. In theory the Backup BIOS should automatically  take over and boot the next time after you have a failed boot because of a corrupt Main BIOS. Just doesn't always happen like that is all.
