Max memory voltages

Max memory voltages
« on: September 25, 2009, 12:16:21 am »
Hi,
I would like to know what are the maximum voltage settings that bios allows for the  GA-M720-US3 and GA-MA770-US3.
Thanks in advance.

( I refer to ddr2 800mhz ram.)

I would imagine something silly like 2.5v...but you don't really want to go much above the RAMs rated voltages...for example my RAM is rated 2.1v-2.2v and I have it running at 2.1. For ddr2 800mhz it probably won't be anymore than 1.8-1.9

1.8-1.9V are too low for ddr2 800mhz rams. Especialy for OCZ, Geil and other brands. I had returned back an Asus M2N-E  because of 1.9V max. My system was unstable even with no everclocking. My current system (which it passed out :P) runs at 2.15V @900MHz

Seems kinda high to me...I have some Gskill F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ which runs at 800mhz with latencies of 5-5-5-15 and that runs 1.8v-1.9v.
I also have some Kingston HyperX KHX8500D2K2/4G which runs at 1066mhz with a latency timing of 5-5-5-15 that runs 2.1-2.2v which I'm using at the moment which runs stable at 2.1v

Kingston rams need less volts than others.  I am running Geil rams @900-950MHz 4-4-4-12 . These settings could demand 2.2v.
Older GA 590 chipset motherboards supported up to 2.5v, I think...  I know, its insane and it will burn the ram. ;D

Oh right, my GA-EP45-UD3P lets me go upto 3.04v if I so wished

Thanks. I hope M770 does the same. I will check it next week when I get it.

according to the manual of MA770-US3 they say as follows:
DRAM Voltage Control
1.800V ~ 2.500V Adjusts the memory voltage, ranging from 1.800V to 2.500V
