Glad to hear that it has all turned out alright in the end. Sometimes an RMA is the only way to go. ;)

From the other cards that I have seen on the forum here that have failed it is normally down to the voltage setting and once sorted an even bigger  overclock can be made in a lot of cases. Once again it really boils down to the fact that no two cards/chips will behave the same and so trying to do a "standard" overclock across a whole batch of cards is bound to have problems.

I thought thats why gigabyte do the GPU gaultlet?

Surely thats the whole point of it, they are not just picking any old GPU and dropping it into the OC'd versions. If I get a card, I expect it to work at advertised settings with no need to mess with the volts or speeds, if you need to - its faulty.

Well littlepuppi I really don't know exactly how much "cherry picking" goes on when deciding which chips to use to make the Gauntlet cards but I would assume that it is probably done by just checking that the chip reaches some test level. If that is the case then there are still going to be cards that fail at some other point and I would agree in practice that makes them faulty.

Yes I would tend to agree with the link that you posted there. I have seen quite a few people who have either downclocked or upped the voltage and succeeded in getting a stable card.

CAN YOU PLEASEEE make backup of your BIOS F12 because I have the old one F11 and I have artifacts and sometimes crashes. PLEASE MAKE BACKUP and send it on the forum.

WHY gigabyte hasn't posted the new F12 BIOS FOR DOWNLOAD?
