Windows 7 reboots instead of shutdown. 870A-USB3 3.0
« on: July 23, 2011, 05:24:20 pm »
Hi All!

I have a strange problem. My new 870A-USB3 3.0 running windows 7 won't shutdown. When I select shutdown from Windows, it just reboots. I thought it was a BIOS problem so I flashed the BIOS with F4(the latest I found) and the problem still exists. I also ran all the Windows updates.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
John

Hi there,

What are you full PC spec's (including any PCI/PCIE add-on cards)?

If this is a new build check for any shorts between the motherboard and the PC case.
Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

The other thing to check for is that the power switch and reset switch are working properly. The best way is to disconnect them from the motherboard.
