i7 2600k OC help z68x-udh3-b3

i7 2600k overclocking issue
Recently got a new rig and wanted to do a modest OC of the i7 2600k, in bios i set the multiplier to 40 (4.0ghz) disabled c1, c3/c6, EIST, turboboost. I basically want the cpu running at a static 4.0ghz.

PC passed Prime just fine, only odd issue is when the PC goes to sleep, and wakes up, the CPU multiplier drops to 35 regardless of a 40 or 42 multiplier in bios and stays there until a reboot

What am I missing?   Another individual on overclockers.net stated he was having the same issue on the same board

CPU: I7-2600k
RAM: 2x4gb Kingston Hyperx 1600
Video: EVGA 570 superclocked

  kaielx .......I don't think you're missing anything!

 It does sound like a BIOS issue.........if you're using the latest BIOS all I can say is wait for the next and see if they (Gigabyte) noticed and applied a fix........

 In the interim.....if you cant live without the sleep feature.......run the PC at stock!...........if you cant live without the clock, ... disable the sleep feature.

 I know which one I would be choosing

Yes I agree with Allan and think that probably a BIOS update will fix the issue, however with sleep problems the system must be 100% stable or you will run into trouble.

Thanks guys, one last question,  is it worth it to notify Gigabyte?  I imagine the response I would get would be something along the lines of "If you Overclocking, you're on your own"

If it is worth it, where is the best place to submit the issue

 Absolutely...... it's through feedback from people such as yourself that these glitches get addressed,....Gigabyte place all these overclock features on there boards to be used, .... they will not leave you out in the cold just for using the features that have been designed into the board......go here to give them your feedback

I have the same board with an I2500k. So far I managed to get it to a stable 4.5ghz without much additional tweaking. I also have the same thing with O/C lost coming out of sleep. Touch Bios reports all the settings right. The board came with f3 bios and I used the @Bios to flash to F4 but the same issue occurs. I disabled sleep for now but it would be nice to see it fixed in a subsequent Bios update.

These minor defects tend to get fixed as the general BIOS code gets updated. It is still a new platform don't forget and will see many more updates to the BIOS yet. The main thing from our point of view is to make sure that GGTS are informed of these issues so that they know to look at them.
