Good low profile 8 GB kits for GA-890GPA-UD3H?
« on: August 20, 2011, 01:14:34 am »
Hello all,

I have a GA-890GPA-UD3H rev 2.1 and the CPU cooler allows just low profile modules in the first two memory slots. I need 8 GB. Would you be so kind to suggest me the best options?

Thanks in advance.

I saw this recently. Vengeance low profile memory.

Might be what your looking for.

Hi there,

As Ripjaws has said the Corsair Vengeance LP series are perfect if you have a larger cooler. I have a set of these running in my own system which has the Noctua NH-D14 cooler and they fit perfectly.

Also from Corsair there are the XMS Modules which are low profile: http://www.corsair.com/memory/xms-classic/xms3-ddr3-memory.html which should also fit under larger coolers.

Remember, when all else fails a cup of tea and a good swear will often help! It won't solve the problem but it will make you feel better.

If for any reason you are not keen on Corsair then Crucial also do a few low profile memory modules too.

I've got the new memory. I've bought CML8GX3M2A1600C9. It could be fitted without forcing below my Noctua NH-U12P-SE2 cooler. No errors with Memtest86.

Thanks for your help.

That's good news anyway and some of the low profile modules will fit below most coolers.

Hi again and thanks for the update.

I'm also running the Corsair Vengeance Low Profile RAM on my own system and have now used it in several builds. It is perfect for fitting under the larger coolers and fits perfectly with my Noctua NH-D14.
