GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 SYS FAN issues
« on: August 13, 2011, 08:39:59 pm »
Hello,

I have recently purchased the GA-Z68X-UD7-B3 mobo and am using an i7-2600k processor. I installed a Corsair H-80 liquid cooling system, which has two fans either side of the radiator. I've plugged the first fan onto SYS FAN 2 and the second onto SYS FAN 3 - they are both three pin fans. I changed the BIOS fan setting to VOLTAGE which I believe is correct for 3 pin fans.

The problem I have is the fans are running full blast all the time - very noisy - i've updated the BIOS to F8 and i've reset the CMOS and loaded optimal settings. Same issue.

I've also tried to regulate them with SpeedFAN but nothing I do there controls the Fan speed.

I'm not sure what else to try so would appreciate any suggestions before I resort to buying a fan controller.

Jon

Hi

I agree that purchasing a fan controller is the best idea anyway. If your fans are not compatible with the headers on the motherboard (Intel spec) you won't be able to control them even if everything is working correctly. As I say a dedicated controller is by far the best idea. ;)
