Only 2 RAM slots, Each containing 1GB RAm as initial post.

I will get to memtest right away and get started.

Well good luck with Memtest John. It does take a long time as you have to test them individually but at least you can be sure of the answers.

ok ran the memtest (I'm familiar with it..) and there were no detected problems.. See pics..

If that was right Memtest wouldn't have worked, unless it is only the second slot that is faulty. What happens if you try running normally but with just one module in the number one slot ?

Hey Dark, Allan, (You 2 have the patience of saints..)

Well, I have ran it most of today with one single stick in the first slot and it runs fine stable as anything.

You should also know that I ran this with 1333 Mhz. Rated kingston DDR3 single stick and have had had no luck here either.  I think it's probably time to call it a day and just run the Mobo with no overclocked settings as it is stable here and performs well for an hour under Prime 95 too.

I have a XFX 790-1 Ultra sitting in the cupboard which I suspect had PSU problems and so having replaced the PSU yesterday, I am planning to get that out of it's box in the near future and drop the CPU in there and start over, hoping the OCZ 700w PSU will cure it's past faults..

As for this board? well, It's a stable board and so I may send it to the Ebay market and get some of my money back.

Thanks for all your help guys, but I think we reached the wall here. - Gigabyte make great boards and I will get something again at some point from them, but, not for now as I'm flat broke lol !

To be honest John, I usually run my systems at stock levels anyway as especially at this point in time the hardware  is more than powerful enough to run any software out there without having to overclock it to manage. Your hardware also tends to last longer which is an added bonus.
