Thanks Allan for basic understanding of the terminology used on the forum. I will give up on the idea of connecting my 2 WD 500GB Sata 3 HDD's in Raid 0 with any Marvell Sata3 controller.
But, do you have any idea how Marvell has conned every single MB manufacturer in the world ( including Intel) to use their faulty Sata3 91xx control chip?
Tee Hee Hee!
Do I detect a wee hint of sarcasm here........If I had that answer your question I'd be a very wealth man..........
As DM stated..........Of all multi-
Billion dollar industry's.......... where product generations are counted in months...........Speed of product implementation is paramount .... you also have to remember Marvell's tentacles reach in to just about every facet of IT based Manufacture.......
Military and defense, Aerospace, high volume storage solutions, mobile and wireless, networking, consumer green products......... the list goes on and on..........a billion chips a year is only a small part of there global reach. Yes the 88SE9128 controller chip was a
DOOOOOZZIE!.........but in reality, considering the generation life of a given platform (mother-board) and combined global concerns.........a very small percentage of Marvell's overall revenue liability ... Just an oppinion...
