Memory XMP help, mobo GA-Z68x-UD7-B3

Hey!

I can't get the XMP to work the way i want it to. When XMP Profile1 is enabled in bios the CPU multiplier goes to x38 and can't be changed back to original. I don't want to OC the CPU at the moment since im using the stock fan. I noticed there is a new bios version (F9C, BETA) but i have no idea if
this particular problem is fixed.

So I'm thinking about manually setting the right values for getting my memory to run at 1600MHz instead of 1333.

I'm not a pro on tweaking in bios and such but I want to do some optimizing . So I would like to know what options i should enable/disable and if there's any "importants" that I should be aware of?

System:

os: win7 ultimate x64

Motherboard: gigabyte, ga-z68x-ud7-b3 (bios v. F8)
CPU: intel, i7 2600K
Graphics: gigabyte, gtx 580 soc
Memory: corsair, 16GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9)
hdd: Intel 510 series SSD 120gb + 2tb WD black caviar
PSU: 1000W chieftech

Hi again,

The settings and voltage for the memory should be printed on the side of the modules and the plastic case they came in. It will be something like 9-9-9-24 and 1.50v. So just go into the BIOS and change the option for memory to "manual" rather than "auto". Next input the numbers we have just mentioned and the voltage and save them. Thats basically it as far as manually entering the memory timings.
That would work for two modules but as you are filling all the banks you will have to increase the voltage a touch. Try 1.56 - 1.60v. It is possible that you may have to make other alterations too but try that first.

Turns out that it actually works fine to run @1600MHz without touching the voltage! (1.500)

Another little unrelated question: After I changed from IDE to AHCI in bios to run my ssd properly, I now have some unwanted text (some controller thing) showing up when booting. This is happening before "Operating System Loading..." and is not really a biggie, but: Is there a way to turn off these messages/testings/countings, whatever it is, in bios?

I have no reason to see them everytime i start my computer ;p

If the message you are now seeing is what I think it is there is no way to remove it. You may find that it will disappear after a BIOS update if they fix it in there.
