Hi there,

although you are running the latest F10E BIOS your CPU may not actually be supported. If you check here: http://uk.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=2500 it shows that you need the 95 Watt version of the 955 CPU if yours is the 125 Watt version that could be the problem.

Do you still have the original packaging for the processor or the sales invoice? You should be able to find out from those.

If not download CPUZ from here: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html and you should be able to find out from that.

The 95 Watt version is supposed to be OEM only and sold as part of a PC package (CPU, Motherboard bought together) if you bought the CPU on its own then it actually may be the higher watt version.

OK assuming that you have the 95 Watt version of the CPU then the first thing I would do is reflash BIOS using the QFlash Utility, just to make sure that there isn't an issue there.

When you reflash the BIOS make sure you disable the "Keep DMI Data" Option on the QFlash homescreen before actually running the programme. This will make sure that the old settings are overwritten and will give  a clean starting point. When you have completed the reflash go into BIOS and load Optimised Defaults then reboot and let the system start. Is the CPU still showing as only running at 800MHz?

Could you clarify your RAM and how much you are running is it 3 sticks of 2Gb's to give the 6 GB total?

It shouldn't make a difference but you could also try removing one of the sticks so that you are running with 2 sticks in Dual channel mode

I don't actually have access to your motherboard and the only information I can get is from the user's manual which isn't helping much.

What options do you have in BIOS for CPU Control?
Do you have any of the Gigabyte Software installed?

It might be a good idea to raise a support ticket with GGTS here: http://ggts.gigabyte.com/tech.asp?ClassID=2&Country=U.K.&SourceWeb=B2C especially as it can take several days for them to respond and, if we can't find a way of resolving this issue for you, it would be nice to already be in-line for help from Gigabyte Tech.
