Using two GPU's and one monitor
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:01:53 pm »
Hello All,

Is there a way of having 2 GPU's, not in crossfire, in a PC linked to one monitor enabling you to switch from one graphics card for games and then the other for design applications?

Cheers,

DVI-I Male to VGA DVI-D Female Splitter Converter Cable ... here's one but the cable might be a tad short .... you may have to order a female to female DVI link/gender changer as well and use your existiong dvi cable as well................this is probable the cheapest way out to do what you want.........you'll have to change in Bois I think when you boot but you will just have to have a play around......you might be able to do it through windows..

Hello Alan,

Thanks for that, is getting clearer now!!! I was looking at this card merely out of interest of course.

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-ati-firepro-v4800-pci-e-20-(x16)-gddr5-2-x-display-port-1-x-dl-dvi

But looking at the Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop Tech specs it might be a bit OTT.

I used to do the same a few years ago. Back then it was easier as the monitor, an Iiyama CRT, had two switchable inputs so I could just switch between them depending on the input I wanted to use.
