I have a problem with CPU fan speed control. I have GA-990XA-UD3 with amd fx-8150  When i am playing games fan speed is beetwen 5k-7k RPM so i suppose is my 100% rpm (i have box fan from AMD fx-8150) . My problem is when i try 2 stress test CPU. When i start test, rpm jump up to 5-6k but becouse temp fall dawn it's slowing down to about 4k-4,5. Then temp. is growing slowly by 1C about 2-4sec and RPM are sometimes growing up to 4,8k rpm and after couple sec rpm are falling down couse temp stop growing and loop begin from 4,3k againa and again till temp don't reach 95~100C when my pc shut down its self. This situation is with CPU smart Fan on and off, and in every mode(auto, pvm, voltage), its seems like fan always want to stabilize temp not to reduced to a specific temperature. I think that i need some CPU fan speed control tool which will be hold rpm on 100% for temp above 61(acceptable temp for fx-8150). First i try tu use speedfan but i don't know how, so i try easy tune 6 for amd. But everything what i achieve is that i can choose temp when fan speed up but always speeding up stops on ~4,5~4,8. Sometimes it's look ridiculous couse rpm fall down <4k and temp is speeding up but fan looks like dosen't care about that he should work on 100%. Is there anyway to force fan 2 speed up to maxium of its capabilities(6,7k rpm) not only trying to stabilize temp.

Hello,

Is there a way to change or limit CPU fan speed in GA-990XA-UD3 motherboard? I tried to do it, but it won't let me. Or maybe I just don't know how to do that?

I tried SpeedFan, but it won't working on my fans.

I have the same motherboard and speedfan is working for me...
all you have to do is to go to Configure->Advanced,
at Chip part chose IT8728F (or something similar)
set PWM 1 mode to Software controlled, do the same with PWM 2 mode
make sure at Configure->Speeds, Pwm1 and Pwm2 (Chip IT8728F) is chosen
click ok, and have fun
