Z68XP-UD4 Overclocking

hi,
i m new here and i dn't know about overclocking. i recently got my Z68XP-UD4 and i want to overclock my i5 2500k and i also try to search that how to overclock i5 2500k with z68xp-ud4 but i din't find anything usefull.

so guys please help me in overclocking i5 2500k with this board.

Hi and welcome.

The first thing you need to do is a load of reading up on overclocking your system. The i5 2500K is an extremely easy chip to overclock with as you can simply change the mulktiplier. Simple as that!  If you want to sqeeze the last little mhz out of it that will require a bit more knowledge but jsu make sure that your cooling is good and ramp up the multiplier.

i will use CM Hyper 212+ so i think there will be no problem in cooling and can i use the z68x-ud4-b3 oc guide.

That cooler should be fine to overclock you i5 as they don't get anywhere nearly as hot as the older CPUs. They run very cooly in fact. Any guide that uses your CPU will give you good info but remember you cannot just pull numbers out of a post from someone else as all sorts of things can be different.

You should be able to get up to about 4.4Ghz without any trouble. You will need to run some stress test programs then to see if it is stable 24/7. Things like Prime95, OCCT, etc but do keep an eye on the temperatures when they are running. You can use progs such as CoreTemp, RealTemp, etc.

If you are enquiring whether the boot sequence can do a double boot when overclocked then the answer is yes but it is not limited to just Gigabyte, many boards do this especially Intel platforms.

No, in general it is not fixable apart from disabling any overclock. It isn't a big problem though and only takes a few seconds extra.

hi, newbie wanna join here.

Im have z68xp ud4 gigabyte board,

my cooler thermal take frio ( Not OCK)

disantavages using this board I think the Memory Slot is too NEAR with socket board, so if u wanna use 4 Slot DDR3 that have a RAM heatsink like G.Skill must use cooler Like corsair H50 etc, if u only use cooler like me ( Frio / Noctua NH14 ) u just ONLY Can use 3 SLOT , 2 slot if dual channel.

I bought this board 1 weeks ago,

Bios F5

try use smart quick boost and OC ing i5 2500k for the 1st time on mode Faster (4,3Ghz) No change manually for bios.
then it seems works normally Boot in windows 7 ultimate 64bit.
I check the voltage from CPUZ, when its full load ( convert with media espresso ) its hit 68-70C vcore 1,360 - 1,390
when idle its go 1,6Ghz and vcore 0,928 temp 38

and from Im read , its not really 'safe' running daily (24/7)in that speed if the vcore almost hit 1,4v @_@

so any advice from another z68xp-ud4 ??
