990fxa-ud3 voltages for cpu all over

so i changed processors from a 955be to a 1090t and eve since ive had weird voltage fluctuations.

(all the cnq and c1e and turbo core options are disabled)

i see my voltage, which is set at 1.45, go anywhere from 1.42 to 1.45 at idle, to 1.47 at load. My psu is brand new coolermaster silentpro 1000W psu.

My 955 be never did this and had rock solid voltages. I pulled the cmos battery and reflashed the bios. Any ideas as to why this is happening? i heard or read somewhere that pulling the cmos bat doesnt necessarily reset the cmos because of non volatile sotrage in motherboards these days?

Any help would be nice, I mean the pc doesnt crash, but i don't like the huge swings in voltage. I already had to replace some corsair ram with gskill because of bad ram. Nothing but issues with this board and i love the look and layout but man..... ALso im running the f4 bios flashed it with qflash.

Hi there,

you will find that there is going to be voltage variations because of the way LLC works on these boards and, yes, it is going to be more noticeable with an X6 over the X4.

When you flashed the BIOS did you remember to disable the "Keep DMI Data" Option on the QFlash homescreen before you ran the update? If you didn't do this then it might be worthwhile re-flashing again but remembering to disable the keep DMI Data option.

Ya I cleared the dmi data pool. Ok, so I know there's no llc control enabled in the bios, which pisses me off, but that aside I know some people have said these voltages were designed for 'dozer cpus but at the same time since llc is not enabled shouldn't It not be over and undercompensating?

Any info on when they'll enable llc?

I can only speak from my experience on the GA-990FXA-UD5 with a 1090T onboard. On my system the voltage varies from 1.50V (normally idles about 1.425V) depending on what I am doing and that when I max out the CPU the Voltage is at 1.30V. That said th esystem is rock solid and I have not experienced any problems with it. Locking off 2 of the cores on the processor affects the Voltage variations and they are a lot less than when I have all 6 cores enabled and is probably why you didn't notice it so much with your X4 processor.

As to the question "Will Gigabyte enable LLC control?" this is something you will have to ask Gigabyte but my understanding is that they do not see this as a major issue and the voltages are working within the framework specified by AMD.
