Ah! shucks! ... that would be fantastic but I,m aiming for some pretty cutting edge kit/build this time round as I want to have a crack at a chilled water record (CPU only chilled) so will mean a high end board unfortunately ....

My accountant reckons I spent more on cameras and PCs last year then in the last 5 ..... so I need to start planning on Dying before 2018 :o

Every penny is going to count this time round ..... any and all charity welcome to continue my work and technical support...... ;D

P.S ....How does -17 to-20C on the CPU loop sound?  ;)

Sorry for the delay DM .... if I read it right ..... Technology9 was commenting on the Photo stacking I think!

you know when you get right in really close (Macro) and you end up with a really shallow depth of field (what's in sharp focus) and the rest is a bit/lot blurred ...... this software allows you to take a series of shots 3, 5, 20, 30, what ever it takes to get the entire subject in sharp focus at several points,.....stack them and take out just what's in sharp focus.....and combine them into a single image.....check this out....

There's a stack of them out there ...some free, .... they come with all different features ..... some you can control from your PC or Mac tethered .... Pretty cool pressing the enter key to take Photos ....some will even do focus shift......

http://www.heliconsoft.com/  ..... this is the one most of the pros use .... very full featured with heaps of add-ons including 3D modelling from Photos

Thanks for that Allan. Very interesting. I have seen the process before but I didn't know it was called that. It is handy for increasing the depth of field especially when taking macro shots because sometimes it can be difficult to keep it all in focus.
