P55 USB2

P55 USB2
« on: September 26, 2009, 03:51:24 am »
Hello all. I have just finished building my new PC based on a GA P55 UD3P Mobo.
8Gig Corasiar RAM

I looked forward to finally having USB2 but no luck. Also, my Canon printer will only instal on one of the USB's. All other USB ports "do not recognise the device".

I would have thought these issues had been sorted by now. I am running windows 7, 64 Bit and all of the chipset drivers have been installed.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks.

does the same happen under win XP or Vista for instance ?

the mb you have has 10 USB 2.0 compatible ports. on which particular USB port there is no problem with this Canon printer?

tried with other vendor USB printer?

bios upgrade?

Hi Beekeeper. Yes its the same with Vista, Win7 32 bit and Win7 64 bit.
Only one port (on the back) recognises the printer but it wont run as USB2 (gives the message "this device can perform faster etc")
Does the same with Epson printer.
I have the latest BIOS for this board, F4.

the latest bios is F4i which is beta (could have some bugs), therefore try to downgrade to F3 bios. if no help then contact the shop where you bought the mb for rma as all ports should work with USB 2.0 speed and recognize USB devices without any problems

Are you overclocking the board at all?

I tried overclocking my motherboard a bit and it lost contact with my HTC mobile - wouldn't sync at all and ended up wiping the contents of the phone due to bad communication.
Reverted the clocks back to normal and it worked fine again.
My board is still on the F2 BIOS as I've not bothered to update it. So I don't know if it affects USB and overclocking.

I was running on W7x64 RC.
