G1.Guerrilla (rev. 1.0) usb 3.0 problem HELP!!!!
« on: October 16, 2011, 06:38:09 pm »
The only problem I am having with this MOBO is USB 3.0. If Plug a pen drive or external hd 2.0 on USB 3.0, it works very well, but when I plug my toshiba 3.0 external drive and try to copy a large file it freezes in the process. If it is a small file, no problem. I did every thing I know, like update the USB 3.0 drivers, firmware,BIOS, reinstalled windows 7 64bit. I had a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R and I never had such a problem with the same toshiba 3.0 usb external drive. Can someone help on this.

When it about 30% percent. But when I copy small files there is no problem. I had a GA-X58A-UD3R and I never had this problem.

Yes the GA-X58A-UD3R is a fine board bar Marvell ...... The only thing I can suggest at the moment is go to 'performance".....then "Create a Power Plan".........and turn everything you can find to performance and lock it in .... i suspect it,s a power saving feature somewhere that kicks in and corrupts the write ...... you may have to look at all "C" states in BIOS config window as well.

Also try different ports.......the ones off the back I/O panel seem to give less problems

Disable ESATA and see if that helps along with the power saving options in the BIOS.

No solution. I disabled Esata and now when I tranfer large files on usb 3.0 (6gb) it freezes and when I try to reboot comes blue screen. On usb 2.0 there is no problem. I disabled the usb 3.0 on BIOS and the external 3.0 works in the speed 2.0

In that case you had better enable the ESATA and USB3 in the BIOS again. Depending on what changes you have made in the past it might be a good idea to load Optimised BIOS Defaults and then save and exit. I will leave that up to you.

What drive do you have your swapfile/pagefile located on ?

Is it left to Windows to fix the size or have you set it manually ?

How much memory do you have installed ?

You say you have 12GB DDR3 2000 memory installed , is that 3x4GB modules or 6x2GB sticks ?

When you ran the BIOS update did you use the latest version and how did you flash the file ?

If it was by @BIOS the OS program it is possible that something got corrupted and isn't working properly now. A bit of a longshot but it would be worth using QFlash the BIOS utility to redo the update to the latest version available.
