Do the UD7 and Assassin come with their own special pair of sunglasses?

They are certainly and exciting range of motherboards. All have something special depending on your particular interest. The Assassin is briliant if you are a gamer but there again if it is overclocking and benching then it would have to be the UD7.  8) 8) 8) 8)

It's good to see that Gigabyte has steered clear of the little fans on the chipset which are quite commmon on some makes.

   Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "Orange"!..........Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "Green"

runn3R ....would you say that the UD7 and the Assassin2 have been designed to have a similar over-clock ceiling......or is one better then the other on this point ?

If I had to hazard a guess, going off the layout, it looks to be the UD7 ? ? ? ? ? ?

Agreed DM with the clean look without the fan, opting for well designed, chunky sinks......I have just the ticket to cool one of these beasts

Now if they can only perform half as good as they look 8)

I would go for the UD7 for overclocking.  Personally I would like  the Assassin even if it does have a silly gun!

I suspect the art department is having a bigger impact on sales with that box over the injected moulded..pee shooter DM.....looks a little like a Walther PPK crossed with a G17 Glock.....probably a big hit with 17-25s and the American market......but the box is Excellent!!

UPDATE:....Thank you Runn3R....nice to have comfirmation :)...."Orange" Silicone it will be. :D

It's really more to do with the Killer NIC and the decent sound incorporated on board. ;) Although I must admit I would be tempted to get hold of one of the heatsinks off one of the other boards and colour code it to match the green of the slots. Quick replacement job!

(Just a little DAM!)...... Just went through the manual for the UD7......I suppose it will come eventually but I had my heart set on Marvell 88SE9130 chip  (HyperDuo) being included in this board.......Now here's the strange thing.........if you go over to Marvells site.......now the 9130 is missing of the spec searches..........this is the same when the 9128 was actively in production

Also version one has just 2 SataIII connector going through the Intel chip........I suspect this is to up the performance and not have it shackled with read and write data loading amongst other things..........inducing us to use the 4 ports which is the Marvell 9130 controller which to be far.....there is two of them.....

This configuration has proved to me to work rather well with the Marvell controllers..... and it seems others have noticed this as well......Good one Gigabyte......Dual BIOS.......Dual Sata III controllers.......what ever works! ;)
