Gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h stuck at post screen
« on: December 03, 2011, 12:35:10 pm »
On tuesday when i turned on my pc in the morning it wouldnt go past the logo screen. I tried resetting but the same happened, so after turning off/on the psu and one or two resets after that it worked. Today the same happened, resets didnt work and after turning it off (pressing power button) and on it worked. Also my case (cm 690) doesnt have a speaker, making it difficult for me to find the error :(
Any idea why this happened?

Hi

Well the first thing I would suggest is to buy yourself a speaker/buzzer only about a Euro or maybe less and will help you tremendously during normal use and faultfinding.

After that I would suggest doing an extended CMOS clear by following these instructions :

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.

Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.

You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Hi and welcome,

Could you possibly post your system specifications so we have can help you to resolve your issue more quickly.

Also I don't know where you are located but MB speakers are inexpensive

or any PC store should sell them.
