Memory Chips Re seat

I have a GA-EP43-UD3L rev 1.2   and almost every time after shut off.On reboot in morning I have to re-seat the memory chips to get a boot up and run just fine even when rebooted through the day. Hot to cold over night maybe?
I have a Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 2.83 gb. memory chips are Corsair Dominator DDR2 2gb x4.I was thinking the cooling fan on memory chip was vibrating the chips loose. Not:  removed cooler fan and still same problem.
Is the mobo just to old and worn out or is there a fix for this problem.It's getting me to the point that I going to part the thing out and just do a new build. Does anyone know about this problem. Thanks in advance

Hi

The first thing to try is to clear the CMOS.

Remove the power cable from the mains supply and then press the power switch on the case for a few seconds just to drain any residual energy in the PSU capacitors.

Once done remove the motherboard battery for at least one hour before replacing it.
 
Next plug back into the mains supply and boot.
 
You will now need to enter the BIOS by pressing DEL and load Optimised BIOS Defaults.

Make any other changes to the BIOS settings to suit your self like disabling the floppy drive, disabling the full screen logo and making the HDD the primary boot device and then press F10 to save and exit.

Hi there,

just to add to DM's excellent advice, have you updated to the latest BIOS? If not, it might be a good idea as there have been a couple of updates for this motherboard that address memory compatibility.

You can download the latest BIOS from here: http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3290&dl=1#bios and I would recommend that you use QFlash to actually run the update and that you disable the "Keep DMI Data" option on teh QFlash homepage as this can help with these kind of issues.

Thanks for the replies,I have updated to latest bios,I really think it is a problem with memory slots.Got mobo off ebay used.Should of got new mobo.
I just got me a Gigabyte AMD  GA-870A-UD3 rev 2.1 Mobo and I'm going to put a quad in it.Intel is going to be parted out.Always liked AMD more.Again thanks for the replies as I'm moving on to next build.Going to try my first Crossfire setup on it.

Just finished removing mobo from case,new one on the way.Post parts on ebay as parting out memory , mobo, cpu ".Dont need them anymore" and find a AMD Quad for new mobo. Thanks for the help.
