M6900 mouse crash

M6900 mouse crash
« on: December 08, 2011, 10:16:35 pm »
Hi I have the gigabyte M6900 gaming mouse and the mouse at random time will not respawn. When i try moving the mouse when it crashes all the dpi lights turn on when i only have it set to 2 of three. I've also tryed installing the firmware updates and the update will also not work, the only thin that will work is unplugging and re=plugging the mouse and it works but still continues to crash.

It certainly sounds like it does indeed need a firmware update. What exactly goes wrong when you try and apply it to your mouse ?

Have you made sure that you are using the latest BIOS for the mainboard and the drivers ?

Yes i did download the latest drivers and my bord drivers. Its just the red light on the bottom of the mouse will shut off, includind the lights on top of the mouse.

I take it that you have got it plugged into the rear motherboard ports ?

Yes I do.

It's not via a hub is it ?

Actually it sounds like it is just going into sleep mode. What power saving settings have you got on that effect it ?

Make sure that you check ALL the power saving settings as there are some in the BIOS, some in Windows and I don't know if the mouse has any dedicated ones of it's own.

I checked off all the power save option in windows and on the Bios. I also tryed the mouse on another machine and it does the same thing.

In that case I would think that the mouse is faulty then and you should return it to the retailer for a replacement.
