Still Got the blues Part II Fake XP CD?
« on: December 20, 2011, 01:43:49 pm »

Im am still having an issue with my board.  Every since I got it its been great for about a month, now as soon as it starts to boot up after windows startup screen, I get the blue screen. Why?         -     Thats was me about a month ago

now I had to try an reinstall XP. and when its just starting to copy files from XP cd is where the blue screen pops up

I have even tried to swap out the hard drive w a new one, and the same thing happens. blue screen. a minute after im trying to install XP.  Maybe I shouldnt have bought that  bootleg XP cd. Could it be the fact that Im not using a genuine XP cd?     ???

I havent messed with the overclocking

Why not download a new disc and burn to CD and try again?

Hi ismael,

Sure, if your Windows disk install is altered, scratch by exemple you have a problem .
Maybe before trying to copy-paste on USB Key.

See infos here :
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/choosing_between_ntfs_fat_and_fat32.mspx?mfr=true

You will see if there are errors reading or writing.
Try before you install OS System format your disk to NTFS.
As needed with third-party software, like parted magic for example.

About a RAM, Keep just one stic of RAM.
Windows XP do not like detecting more than one stick or Ram.
After finish completly installation of Windows, you have a posibility  to Add all Stick or RAm.

use a disk install XP to install to a 128 GB C: partition.  128 is the limit for XP.

And if you have a XP 32bit , The limit memory is 4GB (in pratice 3.5GB).
See here:
http://www.ehow.com/facts_6956580_windows-xp-memory-limitations.html

I do not know if you have SP1-SP2 or SP3 included in Disk Intall XP ... inform us please. Because de limit is not the same.

Do NOT create any other partitions.
Use some other 3rd party utility which can expand your C: drive to include all the remaining space available.

Why you do not use a Window 7 64bit ?

Why run 64-bit Windows?

I agree with Gloup_Gloup but he got in there before me! Try using just one stick of memory in the DDR3_1 slot.  You say you have 8 GB of memory but not what make and model and size of each module. Can you post that please ?
