4 displays - video card plus integrated

4 displays - video card plus integrated
« on: December 27, 2011, 05:22:16 pm »
Hi,

I need 4 displays for audio application.  No gaming.

Present board Gigabyte GA-MA790GPT.

I have a ATI Radeon 7500 that I could not get to install.  Tried uninstalling the Catalyst  Center, and drivers from integrated HD 3300 board.  No luck.

I am thinking that I need a second video card that is not ATI.

I do not need a high power video card.  Actually, just a plain jane for two more monitor outputs.

It seems that all newer video cards are high power.

It seems like I have to fish for a pci (where support isn't really there anymore) or a new high power one

Any recommendations on a simple video card that would work with this motherboard?

Thanks,
Tony M

Hi tony2012,

A good starting point might be to find out what the minimum requirements are for the software that you will be using and that should indicate which graphics card will be appropriate or compatible with the system you require. There are a myriad of GPU's out there especially in the Nvidia range.....and then do a bit more research before you finally buy it.

Hope this helps.

Yes, you have helped.

I will try a nvidia card.  Something like this is on ebay, hopefully for $15 with shipping ? ... - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130069

This has DVI-I so it has analog I can adapt to a non-dvi monitor.
