PROBLEM GIGABYTE GTX 590 PLS HELP
« on: December 30, 2011, 01:01:32 pm »
Hello.I am new here. Before 1.5 week i bought the Gigabyte GTX 590 Graphics Card.I test some games in full graphics options cause i think this card is nuke. For example Deus Ex Human Revolution and while playing game freeze and crashed. Also i test Saints Row The Third and while playing about 10 minutes my PC shutdowns instant.Like when electric power lost. When i power on the pc i don't see a message in windows for error.Nothing.So what the reason for this?My pc's specifications is the following:

Case:           CoolerMaster Cosmos S Window
PSU:            Thermaltake 850W
Mainboard:  MSI 790 FX-GD70
CPU:             AMD Phenom II x4 965 BE-C2 3.4 GHz(No overclocking)
RAM:            Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600 MHz 4x2GB 1.65V
VGA:             Gigabyte GTX 590 GV-N590D5-3GD-B
OS:               Windows 7 Ultimate x64 ENG

I have many fans for cooling in case and for cpu the amd's one.Temperatures is ok.I'll check often. Please help me.Where is the problem?

Your PSU isn't powerful enough on the 12v rails. It averages out at 15A each which is nowhere near enough for the GPU. The  total is according to the spec: Four +12V rails provides superior performance (combined loading of 62A). A single rail would have suited you better.

That PSU has a single 12v power rail at 80A so should be fine for your card. These dual GPU cards draw a lot of power and you also need to consider the drop in output as the PSU ages too.

Hi Dude,

I would say that PSU should work fine as long as you use the two rails from the 12v supply (50A for 12V3 & 12V4) they should be more than powerful enough.

It is similar but not quite as good as the other one but it should work fine as long as you use two different 12v rails to supply the GPU. That way you will be getting enough power to the card no matter what.
