Greetings forum. Im in need of some help. My curent build crashes/bsod when playing flash video or doing windows performance asessment.

System:

Motherboard: ASUS P8H61 -M PRO rev 3.0

CPU: i5 2500K

GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 560 OC 1GI (GV-N56GOC-1GI)

SSD: OCZ Vertex 2

PSU: Corsair HX620

Please help! Bios is F21 and I am unable to update to the F61

This is a fresh win7-64 install, I have done a cmos reset, flashing MB bios, installing vista 32, I've tried different drivers and the newest non beta from nvidia. The BSOD appeared when atempting to play flash video in browser or halfway through the windows experience assesment With the new nvidia driver the BSOD appears before windows logon.

yes i have tried 285.62 driver and now the bsod is on windows logon, Maybe i need a bios update, my gtx650 bios is F21 and i am unable to update to the F61 from Gigabytes website ( bios does not match)

Why are you tryng to update to F61 if you already have a F21 BIOS Shouldn't you be looking to update to F22?

When you're updating the Nvidia drivers, are you ticking the box to do a clean install so that it completely removes the older drivers?

Maybe remove all graphics card drivers from windows .. nvidia drivers...etc..

Driver notes : before install new driver,
Please completely remove older version driver first with :
Drivers sweeper : http://phyxion.net/Driver-Sweeper/Driver-Sweeper/Version-3-2-0/

and soft for  Windows Registry :
Ccleaner http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
jv16 PowerTools 2011 http://www.macecraft.com/downloads/jv16pt_setup_hb.exe
Wise Registry Cleaner Pro http://www.wisecleaner.com/soft/WRCPro.exe

and restart the computer.

I don't think you need to use Driver Sweepr Pro any longer, the built in Nvidia option for clean install should be sufficient.

Here is something funny. I did  install with the 285.62 driver and checked the clean install box, and suddenly everything worked. However i got BSOD on reboot.

I then wiped my drive, reinstalled windows without network and installed the 285.62 nvidia driver. The result was BSOD on windows login. I the installed the 275.33 driver in safemode but system crashes when doing the windows performance (window media decoding) and playing flash videos. I have now installed the  285.62 driver without reboot. everything seems to work perfectly. However I suspect a new BSOD when rebooting.
The card does work in linux.

I have the same issue, the only difference is my brand new card is a 560ti, but is also OC. CMOS reset, flashed BIOS, different drivers, nothing works. The only thing that seems to be working is extremely downclocking the memory clock of the vidcard, which makes it very slow.

In Linux it works fine as well

Hi both,

If you are getting a BSOD with a STOP code of 0x000000116 it usually means that the northbridge voltage needs to be increased a touch. It couild also be the graphics card is slightly undervoltaged.
