GV-N560UD-1G - Second monitor not being detected, huh?
« on: January 11, 2012, 08:13:17 am »
I recently bought the Gigabyte GTX 560ti (GV-N560UD-1G ). I had hoped to use a dual-display setup with this card, as 560ti's are supposed to support that. But the system is not detecting the second monitor. Both are detected fine on their own when just one is plugged in.

Is this feature for some reason not supported on Gigabyte's version of the 560ti? Or do I need to RMA this card...

To clarify, it only shows one monitor in my device manager. Doesn't matter if both monitors are plugged into the DVI ports, or 1xDVI/1xmHDMI.

Sigh.. I really hope I don't have to return the card =/

Hi and welcome.

Both monitors should run off this card at once. You are not using any adapters are you ?

Have you checked in the manual for any notes about the running of these two connections at once ?

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!

No, I am not using any adapters. The one cable is a mHDMI to HDMI, and the others are direct DVI/DVI.

The manual does a brief overview of the Nvidia control panel settings. But the instructions cannot be followed, since only one display shows up in the multi monitor display options. The manual states that both a DVI+HDMI and DVI+DVI combination is supposed to work.

They are both the same LCD monitors, brand new. And it's a new install of Windows with the latest graphics drivers.

Doing a full driver wipe right now and clean install of the drivers. As initially the drivers from the disc were first installed. And might not have been fully replaced by the new install, creating issues. Worth a shot I guess..

Yes, good point and worth a try.

The both monitors should work together and should both be found in Display Properties. If you check in Display Settings what do you see there ?

Yeah, only one shows. Same as in the Device Manager. Only one monitor shows =/

You say that both work if you remove the other one though ?

What digital plug is on the end of your cable at the card (DVI-D, DVI-I) ?

DVI-I I think. And yeah, either one works when plugged in alone. Just wouldn't detect both at the same time. But the detection seems to be solved now after doing the full driver wipe and clean install. Both monitors show up in the Device Manager now and can be played with in the Nvidia settings! :)    Phew, glad that's fixed!  Thanks for taking the time to help! Cheers.
