GA-990FXA-UD7 v. 1.1 BIOS
« on: August 21, 2014, 03:40:27 pm »
Hi,

I have GA-990FXA-UD7 ver. 1.1, and AMD FX 8350. All running well without any issues. I'm just curious about BIOS updates. Actually I have the latest one - F10 issued 2012/10/26. There's also F11d, but it's still beta version. I wonder if there will be newer versions of Award BIOS in the future. I've just read that AMD plans three new FX 8-core microprocessors ex.  FX-8370,  FX-8370E and there are also FX-9370 and FX-9590, but these are not supported by GA-990FXA-UD7 ver. 1.1 with F10 BIOS.

Is there any possibility to migrate from Award BIOS to UEFI? If yes, how to do this?

Thanks.

Your hands are tied with that board. You really need the 3.0 rev of the board to use those CPU. I had to do the same thing.

I had a 1.0 rev board GA-990FXA-UD5 board and when to a 3.0 rev board. Now I can run any CPU & UEFI too.

I thought so. When I had an opportunity to buy rev. 1.1 - I did it. Shortly after they released rev. 3.0. Oh well.
Thanks for your reply. Will be looking for UD7 rev.3.0.

"I have GA-990FXA-UD7 ver. 1.1, and AMD FX 8350. All running well without any issues." <-- This.

BIOS F11d adds support for the FX-8370, FX-8370E and the FX-8320E:
