Enabling XMP?

Enabling XMP?
« on: February 07, 2012, 03:24:11 am »
Hi.

I have a Z68A-D3-B3 motherboard with a Intel Core i5 2500K & XMS 3 Corsair 1333mhz 2 x 4 gb Ram.

I ve read on the Corsair website that their ram-chips have XMP.

My question is... how do I enable the XMP in the BIOS?

I ve had a look and at no point have I spotted any option.

The current BIOS version is F9

Could someone give me  a brief guide on how to do so?

Thanks :)

Hi and welcome.

If you install memory sticks that have an XMP available the option will become available in the BIOS. All you need to do is find the proper part under Advanced Frequency Settings and click enable.

If you do not find it in the BIOS, your memory is not XMP programmed, and I believe the budget XMS3 you mention does not have it.  Got a link to your exact model so we can see what they say?

You can verify with CPU-z, check the SPD tab and see if you see XMP settings or just JEDEC or EPP/SPD, if none of them say XMP then the memory is not programmed with XMP

No I think you are right Lsdmeasap as I have a set of the XMS3 sticks and they don't have the XMP attached.
