945GCM-S2L E6750 running at 2.13 (266x8)
« on: November 08, 2009, 12:41:08 am »

I am unable to get my cpu to run at its stock speed of 2.66.  On first boot it gives me option to run fsb at 1333mhz which i accept, system will reboot but cpu still running at 2.13.  I also tried manually changing FSB from 266 to 333 but no joy.

I sure i missing something simple,  any help appreciated

Please check and see which BIOS version you are using, and if that BIOS version supports the 1333MHz chipset. I seem to recall that a BIOS flash was required to 'see' the E6X50 stepping of CPU

OK as you know the GA-945GCM-S2L can support up to FSB1333MHz by overclocking only, and you have flashed your bios to F4 or higher then I am lost as to why you can not overclock your system to 1333.

When you accept the option to run your system at 1333 is their an option to save the settings?

It has been so long since I ran a 945 chipset that I can not recall the bios screens anymore.

If you have to manually overclock the fsb to 1333mhz you may well have to up the northbridge voltage
