GigaByte/Asus motherboard compatibility

GigaByte/Asus motherboard compatibility
« on: February 23, 2012, 12:09:37 pm »
Hello all. I have what is hopefully a straightforward question:
Is an Asus M5A78L-M-USB motherboard inferior or equivalent or superior to a
Gigabyte H61M-USB3 motherboard?
And why, in general terms?
Thank you. Pent.    :-\

Hi and welcome.

This is a Gigabyte forum and so I don't really know what answer you expect from here!  Obviously I don't know the pros and cons of the Asus motherboard in question but the Gigabyte one is very good. One of the main points i have always liked about Gigabyte over Asus or indeed many other manufacturers is that Gigabyte are the only one to have an office and service centre in the UK so if there are any problems you don't have to pay to send your motherboard overseas for help.

Thanks for your reply.  Let me re-phrase then?
Is a Gigabyte H61M-USB3 motherboard inferior or equivalent or superior to an Asus M5A78L-M-USB motherboard in general terms if I was making a purchasing choice between the two?
If I'm in the wrong Forum area, where should I go?
TY.  Pent.

I have used Gigabyte, Asus, Asrock & MSI boards plus others, each have their pros & cons.
What do you intend to use these boards for? ie gaming etc.

You can try out this site for some reviews regarding these boards if you have not already done so; http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/motherboards.

I have to say I used to like Asus but now I am a' bona fide' Gigabyte fan.

""This is a Gigabyte forum and so I don't really know what answer you expect from here!""

I thought that comment was a bit silly. Where else would I go?  But maybe the correct answer stuck in the throat of a staunch Gigabyte supporter.
Regardless.. I have found the answer from further exploration.
The Asus is quite a bit more superior than the Gigabyte.
Get both spec sheets as ASUS Tech advised and do a simple comparison check. "That's where the answer is"
And it was.  I will be using the ASUS board.
...ps.... ASUS are in the UK as well.
I appreciate your help.  ::)

I'm using H61M-USB3-B3 v2 :)
Very great board compared to AMD  ;)

The Asus is quite a bit more superior than the Gigabyte.

I prefer the quality of Gigabyte motherboards more than Asus or ASRock :)
