970a-d3 ddr3 problem

970a-d3 ddr3 problem
« on: February 23, 2012, 05:59:08 pm »
Hi ,
I bought a gigabyte ga-970a-d3, and that I have previously used the AMD Athlon II x2 250 processor.
but ı can't run my ddr3 dual dram in ganged mode.(My dd3 drams/modules in Qualified Vendors List.Model:G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL,Modules in White DIMM slots)
I modify bios settings: ganged mode ,in sequence 800/1066/1333mhz dram frequency (no overclocking cpu),9-9-9-24-1t and 7-7-7-21-1t timing , 1,5volt vdimm
changing all settings on M.I.T menu and selecting "save and exit setup" but;
PC boot-up in again unganged mode !
Bios version is: F7
I know amd IMC max support is ddr3-1333 officially.
I used this processor with A7gm-s 2.0 mainboard and I can run corsair dominator ddr2-1066 mhz drams in ganged mode perfectly.
I can share aida64/everest screenshots.
if you wish it
Anyone have a idea for fix this issue?
Sorry for my bad english.Thank for all.

I always suggest to anyone using a amd processor to run it in unganged mode anyway. Performance is better and it puts less stress on processor. It also runs games a whole lot better in unganged. Just my thoughts absic or dark mantis will be in later and might be able to help you further as i am at home on lunch hour and have to go back to work shortly.

I want to turn this IMC to ganged mode.
Why I can't turn this mode ?
I think Ganged mode more powerful. And My old  games and programs cannot using all-cores/threads.
My second problem:
Bios (in MIT) I cannot change to Cpu's Nb&ht multipliers higher than default speed.
Chipset support 4800mhz(effective [ddr] freq.) HT speed.I am usuing as defrault 4000mhz (200fsb x10ht-nb mult. x2 ddr)
I want to change to 12x200 4800mhz (my old mainboard can clocked-up  5200 mhz nb and ht speeds in stock voltages.)
Please fix this issues in next bios revision.
It's a negative vision on the buyers

I just have one question if you want to overclock then why did you buy that board without even looking at features and what it does?  ???

You only have a 4+1 power phase and no mosfet, Yes it has the 970 chipset but the lower end of it is the difference of buying a 6440 video card or a 6970 video card. The 6440 wil play hi def movies and games but wont overclock very well at all since it is a lowend card yet the 690 overclocks like a dream and you can tell the difference by price.

If you wanted to overclock you should of went with the UD3 instead of the d3 the UD3 has a mosfet and 8+1 power phase and is more geared towards overclocking. Overall, the GA-970A-UD3 is clearly the superior board as not only does it have a strong feature set, it also has a power phase design that will please almost any overclocker. Alternatively, the GA-970A-D3 won’t be a great overclocking board, but the features offered are sure to make it a great budget-friendly option.

Therefore instead of coming on here asking for something that isnt going to happen do a little research first and get the board that does what you want it to. Biostar is the same way as is any other motherboard manufacture they make the lower end boards for budget builds and then they make a series of mid to high range board like the 990FXA UD3 and the UD5 up to UD7 for most high end builds.
20.00 difference on newegg.
