« on: March 11, 2012, 02:56:32 pm »
When I click Sound Blaster Console, I get msg "There are no supported audio device avilable"

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled both the Realtek and Creative drivers via CD.  fwiw THX will start-up

p.s. I read another post w somewhat similiar situation, and it mentioned the program Winrar.  Can someone please provide some links, and or suggestions to properly reinstall the Creative drivers

Hey Dark  heres some more info:

If I go to Services, I still have the Creative Audio Engine Licensing Service & Creative Audio Service both listed.  I also know Reg editor has multiple intsances for Creative in the registry.

Would a repair install of Win 7 clean out these files?

p.s. Ive tried to run McAfee registry cleaner, but theres @ 56 files that will not cleanup/delete.

Hey Dark,

I figured out that there is actually at least three programs to uninstall the Creative software.  Its all currently installed and appears to be working correctly!

But, I have another question..

Im running the stock bios which says something like "only for harddrives and CD roms" when booting.  I havnt had any issues that were not related to anything but user error (w/exception of EA Origin) <-- I thought it was on my end and thats when I started "fixing" my sound issue or basically creating a problem.

Basically Id like to try install an SSD per Sata3 instructions found in users manual.  fwiw the SSD has one of the latest Marvell controllers.

Should it be okay to use the stock BIOS?  (dont like beta's much) Id also like to know your thoughts on running a raid on two HD's to be used for pagefile, programs, but also as backup, or should I use one specifically for backup.  (The HD's are Sata2 which makes me think, its not such a good idea period)

p.s.  I believe I fixed the sound issue by setting Realtek to 7.1, unplugginy my headset, restarting, installing (cancel reboot, shutdown) wait a minute and start..
