Any BIOS with a letter after the number is a BETA bios, ie F5h. When the BIOS becomes final they drop the letters.

The 970 bios went through 3 or 4 letters, ie F5g and F5h  before it became solid F5.

I've tried a dhalf dozen different memory with very little difference with any of them.  From my 1333MHz 7-7-7-21 ram to my 2133MHz there was literally no difference in performance.  I think I gained 1fps on my game with was less than 1% increase.  Unless you run some program that needs a lot of access to memory, generic is the way to go and save your money for SSD or better processor.

ps.  if you want added stability, I just stuck some of my server ECC/UDIMM RAM in and the MB picked it up fine and even had ECC options in the BIOS.
Cost was minimal @ $69.99 for 8GB (2 x 24GB) free shipping at the egg.

Just an update of a bit of success.
In the blue slots (CPU ID lists them as slots 1 & 2),
I've installed a Kingston kit KHX1600C9D3/4GX,
At 1.5 (stock memory voltage) with the Northbridge @ 2013.5MHz,
The sticks are stable @ 805.4MHz
FSB:DRAM @ 1:4
CL 9.0
tRCD @ 9
tRP @ 9
tRAS @ 27
tRC @ 36

Very happy with this board...
